Charles H. Collins

Mr. Charles H. “ Chuck” Collins, 69, of Cov­ing­ton, died Aug. 6. The son of the late Al­son War­ren Collins and Elvira Duell Collins, he was born in Burling­ton, Vt., in 1938.

He served our coun­try in the United States Air Force. Mr. Collins loved the Li­ons Club and was a past pres­i­dent. He de­liv­ered glasses to the Li­ons Light­house and helped start the Li­ons Club bar­be­cue fundraiser.

In his spare time, he en­joyed play­ing golf, go­ing to the Waf­fle House to drink cof­fee with his for­mer em­ploy­ees from Her­cules and gar­den­ing.

Sur­viv­ing are wife Lois Collins of Cov­ing­ton; sis­ters He­len Jones of Ta­maqua, Pa., Ruth Lepage of Punta Gorda, Fla.; brother Dick Collins of Las Ve­gas; brothers- in- law and sis­ters- in- law Mr. and Mrs. James Gar­rett, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ar­row­wood, Mr. and Mrs. Ed­win Ar­row­wood, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ar­row­wood, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Checka, Mr. and Mrs. David Led­ford, Emitt Ar­row­wood, El­liott Ar­row­wood, El­don Ar­row­wood, Linda Ham­mond; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, great- nieces and great­nephews.

Funeral ser­vices will be to­day, Aug. 8, at 3 p. m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Roy­eese Stowe, Ann Wheeler and Jimmy Wil­liams of­fi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will hold a re­cep­tion in honor of Mr. Collins at Shiloh United Methodist Church af­ter the ser­vice where they will greet fam­ily and friends. In lieu of flow­ers, please make do­na­tions to the Cov­ing­ton Li­ons Club.
