Group seeks to re­store his­toric church in Ox­ford

When it was built in 1841, the Methodist Church, Old Church, in Ox­ford had floors of heart pine, curved walls, fly­ing bal­conies and a bell in the bel­fry which had been cast in 1834. John For­ney and Eva Sit­ton of the Ox­ford His­tor­i­cal Shrine So­ci­ety and the so­ci­ety it­self are try­ing to raise $250,000 to save the 156-year-old ed­i­fice which is suf­fer­ing from ter­mites and dry rot.
