Youth fish­ing rodeo open to pub­lic

Ge­or­gia FFC-FCCLA host­ing new event

Spon­sored by the Rock Bass Club, the first ever Youth Fish­ing Rodeo will be held at the Ge­or­gia FFA-FCCLA Cen­ter.

Open to any an­gler age 14 and un­der, the rodeo will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 25. The young an­glers will fish the pond at the cen­ter and prizes will be awarded for first, sec­ond and third places in two age groups: un­der 11 and 11-14.

The fish will be weighedin each hour to en­sure safe re­leases and weights will be to­taled at the end of the com­pe­ti­tion. If needed, equip­ment will be avail­able on the day of the event.

All par­tic­i­pants in­ter­ested in com­pet­ing must reg­is­ter at the pond prior to fish­ing and must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. There is no cost for this event; how­ever fish­ing is lim­ited to chil­dren only. The pond will be open only to fish­ing con­tes­tants and only on Aug. 25.
