Melvin (Sak) Daniel

Melvin (Sak) Daniel died Aug. 13. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray­mond (Bit­tie) Daniel, he was born in 1950. He was a grad­u­ate of R.L. Cousins High School and ac­cepted Christ at an early age and joined Rocks Spring Bap­tist Church. Mr. Daniel served in the United States Air Force. He was a fun-lov­ing man who loved gar­den­ing, hunt­ing and his fam­ily. He was pre­ceded in death by sis­ter Ms. Nina Daniel and grand­daugh­ter Ali­cia.

Sur­viv­ing are wife Mrs. Alice Woods Daniel; step­daugh­ter Mr. and Mrs. Dar­ryl (San­dra) Brown; step­son Mr. and Mrs. Allilus (Mi­randa) Driskell; grand­chil­dren Deme­sha, Da­mario, Sieara, Dearra, Alisha, Emari, Zion, Jaelin; sis­ters Mr. and Mrs. Ed­die (Re­becca) Lawrence Jr., Cov­ing­ton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Jen­nie) Hatcher, Cincin­nati, Ohio, Ms. Pa­tri­cia Hamm, At­lanta, Ms. Se­lena John­son, Ox­ford, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Amy) Parker, Car­rolton, Mr. and Mrs. DeFor­est (Sylvia) Sen­son, Stone Moun­tain; brothers Mr. Carl Daniel, Mr. Eu­gene Daniel, both of Cov­ing­ton; aunts Mrs. Mil­dred Smith, Mrs. Mu­sizet Pa­trick, both of At­lanta; sis­ters-in-law Ms. Eve­lyn Jef­feries, Ms. Tiny Mae Woods, Ms. Re­becca Woods; brothers-in-law Mr. Jerry Woods, Mr. Tommy Woods, Mr. Ed­die Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woods, all of Cov­ing­ton; a host of nieces, neph­ews, other rel­a­tives and friends.

Funeral ser­vices were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at Rock Spring Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church, Mansfield, with the Rev. Ed­die Glover of­fi­ci­at­ing.
