Pur­suit of Hap­pi­ness Pro­gram at Li­brary

The li­brary will fea­ture a pro­gram for mid­dle school stu­dents at 7 p.m. at the li­brary to cel­e­brate the ar­rival of the We the Peo­ple Book­shelf Grant with the theme the pur­suit of hap­pi­ness. Viet­nam Vet­er­ans Against the War, a na­tion­ally char­tered or­ga­ni­za­tion since 1967, has formed a Greater At­lanta Re­gion unit. Vet­er­ans and oth­ers in­ter­ested in par­tic­i­pat­ing with or join­ing the new unit should con­tact Michael Burke at (770) 491-6817.

Dis­abled Amer­i­can

Vet­er­ans Driver

The Dis­abled Amer­i­can Vet­er­ans, Chap­ter 55, Inc., needs vol­un­teer driv­ers to drive the DAV van on Tues­day or Thurs­day from Cov­ing­ton to the V.A. Med­i­cal Cen­ter, Decatur. The time is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call Bobby Hug­gins at (770) 7877698 for in­for­ma­tion.

New­ton County Nav­i­ga­tor Team

The New­ton County Nav­i­ga­tor Team helps link New­ton County fam­i­lies, es­pe­cially those with chil­dren with dis­abil­i­ties, to com­mu­nity re­sources through a statewide par­ent lead­er­ship net­work. The team meets the last Mon­day of ev­ery month at 6:45 p.m. at the YMCA Af­ter­School Build­ing, New­ton Drive. If you are in­ter­ested, please at­tend.
