Learn to fly fish this fall
Clinic offered at Panola Mountain State Park
Experience Panola Mountain State Park’s Alexander Lake with a two- hour clinic covering equipment overview, knot tying, basic casting, safety issues of flyfishing and tricks of the trade.
This clinic is available, weather permitting throughout the year, and if time permits, participants may stay to catch a fish. Local fly- fishing instructors C. H. Brown and Michael Reilly suggest participants wear long pants and hiking shoes and to bring snacks, water and sun lotion. Brown and Reilly will head out from the Rockdale River Trail Head for the deep pools and waters of Panola Mountain State Park by 9: 45 am.
Panola Mountain State Park is situated in the 40,000- acre Arabia Mountain Heritage Area, and it is recognized as Atlanta’s National Natural Landmark. Panola Mountain State Park strives to incorporate recreational ( hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities), educational and interpretive opportunities, while conserving and restoring unique sensitive habitats.
