Learn to fly fish this fall

Clinic of­fered at Panola Moun­tain State Park

Ex­pe­ri­ence Panola Moun­tain State Park’s Alexan­der Lake with a two- hour clinic cov­er­ing equip­ment over­view, knot ty­ing, ba­sic cast­ing, safety is­sues of fly­fish­ing and tricks of the trade.

This clinic is avail­able, weather per­mit­ting through­out the year, and if time per­mits, par­tic­i­pants may stay to catch a fish. Lo­cal fly- fish­ing in­struc­tors C. H. Brown and Michael Reilly sug­gest par­tic­i­pants wear long pants and hik­ing shoes and to bring snacks, wa­ter and sun lo­tion. Brown and Reilly will head out from the Rock­dale River Trail Head for the deep pools and wa­ters of Panola Moun­tain State Park by 9: 45 am.

Panola Moun­tain State Park is sit­u­ated in the 40,000- acre Ara­bia Moun­tain Her­itage Area, and it is rec­og­nized as At­lanta’s Na­tional Nat­u­ral Land­mark. Panola Moun­tain State Park strives to in­cor­po­rate recre­ational ( hik­ing, fish­ing and other out­door ac­tiv­i­ties), ed­u­ca­tional and in­ter­pre­tive op­por­tu­ni­ties, while con­serv­ing and restor­ing unique sen­si­tive habi­tats.
