Robber used note to demand money
The Covington Police Department is on the lookout for the man who robbed the First Georgia Community Bank Monday afternoon.
The robber entered the bank at approximately 4:10 p.m. and handed an index card to a teller demanding cash. The man wore clear plastic gloves, a beige jacket, a polo shirt, sunglasses and a green ball cap.
CPD Lt. Wendell Wagstaff said the suspect brought his own white plastic grocery bag for the teller to put an undisclosed amount of money into.
Witnesses said the robber left in a silver four door Nissan Altima with a red and white drive out tag headed east on U.S. Highway 278.
He was described as heavy set, 5 feet 10 inches tall with reddish hair and a goatee and was thought to be between 30 to 50 years of age. Wagstaff said the man was possibly wearing a blonde wig.
