Falcons lose backup tight end Milner to ankle injury
FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons placed rookie tight end Martrez Milner on injured reserve Tuesday and claimed tight end Courtney Anderson off waivers.
Milner, a fourth-round pick from Georgia, hurt his left ankle in the second quarter of Sunday’s win at Carolina. Milner caught nine passes for 50 yards in eight games.
Anderson (6-6, 270) played three seasons with Oakland before being released following the 2006 season. He played in two games with Detroit this season before being waived.
