Lowell staying with Boston
BOSTON— World Series MVP Mike Lowell and the Boston Red Sox finalized their $37.5 million, three-year contract.
Lowell could have had a fouryear deal with more guaranteed money elsewhere but chose to stay with the Red Sox.
Lowell gets $12 million in each of the next three years and a $1.5 million signing bonus.
Lowell batted .400 (6-for15) during Boston’s four-game Series sweep of the Colorado Rockies, with four RBIs, three walks and a team-high six runs to earn MVP honors.
