Wayne Maloney

Wayne Maloney of Cov­ing­ton died Nov. 21 at Craw­ford Long Hospi­tal at the age of 63. Born Sept. 3, 1944 to the late Arthur H. (Buck) and Les­lie Marie Ozburn Maloney, he was a mem­ber of Por­terdale Bap­tist Church. Mr. Maloney owned and op­er­ated Maloney’s Ma­chine Works for over 35 years and was a for­mer peace of­fi­cer and code en­force­ment of­fi­cer for the New­ton County Sher­riff’s Of­fice for 18 years. He en­joyed veg­etable gar­den­ing and re­pair­ing an­tique trac­tors.

Mr. Maloney is sur­vived by his wife, Carol L. Maloney of Cov­ing­ton; chil­dren Luther J. Maloney of At­lanta and Sharon Maloney of Roswell; aunts Lu­cile Bowles of Cov­ing­ton and Sue Hol­comb of Cum­ming; sev­eral cousins.

Funeral ser­vices for Mr. Maloney will be held at 2 p.m. to­day at the Chapel of Cald­well & Cowan, 1215 Ac­cess Road, Cov­ing­ton with Rev. Dickie John­son of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Lawn­wood Me­mo­rial Park.
