James L. Ho­gan, 79, of Ox­ford, died Nov. 26 at At­lanta Med­i­cal Cen­ter. The son of the late H. Grady Sr. and Mary Clair Hawk Ho­gan, he was born in Morgan County. A vet- eran of the United States Navy, Mr. Ho­gan re­tired from Kroger as pro­duce man­ager af­ter 30 years of ser­vice. He was a mem­ber of Cov­ing­ton First Bap­tist Church, New­ton Hayrid­ers Square Dance Club, New­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter Aux­il­iary and Lawrenceville Ma­sonic Lodge where he was pre­sented a 50- year- mem­ber­ship cer­tifi­cate.

Sur­viv­ing are brothers and sis­ter- in- law H. Grady Ho­gan Jr. of Cov­ing­ton and Bobby J. and Rachael Ho­gan of Thomas­ton; brother- in- law and sis­ter- in­law Ed and Elaine E. Tay­lor of Cov­ing­ton; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Funeral ser­vices will be held at 2 p. m. Thurs­day, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Cald­well & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Ac­cess Road, with the Rev. Len Strozier of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Madi­son City Ceme­tery, Madi­son. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the funeral home from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m. to­day, Nov. 28. Flow­ers are ac­cepted or do­na­tions may be sent to New­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter Aux­il­iary, 5126 Hospi­tal Dr., Cov­ing­ton, 30014, or the char­ity of your choice.
