PEARL Spell­ing Bee

Par­ents Ed­u­cat­ing Achiev­ers in Right­eous­ness and Lead­er­ship will hold a spell­ing bee at 2 p.m. Jan. 10 in the fel­low­ship hall of Christ Com­mu­nity Church, 2350 Ga. 138, Mon­roe. There is no en­try fee and any home-schooled child in grades K through 12 from New­ton, Rock­dale or Henry coun­ties may par­tic­i­pate. Flu Shots Avail­able

The New­ton County Health Cen­ter has re­ceived its sup­ply of flu vac­cine. Flu shots will be given on a walk in ba­sis from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues­day, Wed­nes­day and Fri­day and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon­day and Thurs­day. Cost is $20 with pay­ment by credit card, debit card or Med­i­caid or Medi­care.
