Buck Vine “ Sam” Harde­man

Mr. Buck Vine “ Sam’ Harde­man died Jan. 31 at DeKalb Med­i­cal Cen­ter. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny ( Ollie Thompson) Harde­man, he was born in 1940 in New­ton County. He joined Early Hope Bap­tist Church at an early age, at­tended pub­lic schools and re­tired from Burch Lowe. He then be­gan his own ca­reer in roof­ing. He and first wife An­nette Belcher had 10 chil­dren; he and sec­ond wife Brenda Har­ris shared three chil­dren. Mr. Harde­man was a de­voted fa­ther and was known for his hu­mor­ous acts and story telling. He was pre­ceded in death by sib­lings Mar­garet Moody and Robin, Marvin and Cur­tis Harde­man.

Sur­viv­ing are sons Lee Marvin, Dwayne, Samuel, Johnny, Fred­er­ick and Dei­dric Harde­man; daugh­ters Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Ray ( Bon­nie) Thrasher, Ms. Con­nie Hud­son, Mr. and Mrs. Richard ( Eufreida) James, Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis ( Vic­to­ria) An­drews, Mr. and Mrs. Al­varez ( Elaine) Thomas, Ms. Crys­tal Harde­man, Ms. Sherry Ann
