Edie Cochran, 73, a 15-year Cov­ing­ton res­i­dent, died Feb. 10 at New­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter. Both Mrs. Cochran and her hus­band are char­ter mem­bers of the New­ton County Sev­enth Day Ad­ven­tist Church and for­mer mem­bers of Cony­ers Sev­enth Day Ad­ven­tist Church. She had served in many ca­pac­i­ties in church of­fices and loved be­ing of ser­vice to the Lord and to peo­ple. She en­joyed be­ing with her fam­ily and her church fam­ily and be­ing out­doors in her flower and veg­etable gar­dens.

Sur­viv­ing are hus­band of 54 years Ron­ald Cochran; daugh­ters and sons-in-law Deb­bie and Gary Gun­nyon of New­born, Rhonda and Bob Coody of Cov­ing­ton, Julie and Arnold Brown of Jack­sonville, Fla.; grand­chil­dren Gary R. Gun­nyon, Tony Coody, Amanda Coody Chatham, Michael Coody, Mandy Brown Puryear, Rachel Everett, Han­nah Brown; six great-grand­chil­dren; sis­ters Ruby Jones of Dawn­sonville, Ruth Payne of Tun­nell Hill; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Funeral ser­vices were held Feb. 12 in the Ac­cess Road chapel of Cald­well & Cowan with Pas­tor John Swaf­ford, Pas­tor Shawn Shives and Pas­tor Daniel Ro­manov of­fi­ci­at­ing. Flow­ers are ac­cept­able or a love of­fer­ing may be made to the fam­ily.
