Myra Frady, Oxford College’s dean for resource planning and CFO, is also a photographer and is the Southern Heartland Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for February.

She shoots with a Nikon because she thinks the image quality is top-notch and does a lot of computer post-production to create the desired ambiance with a specific texture, glow or tint. Her lens often gravitates towards natural settings such as gardens or beaches. Even her concrete or brick landscapes have mossy hues.

She took classes at the Showcase School of Photography. She encourages other aspiring photographers to look into the school because of its intimate classroom settings and skilled instructors.

Her work has been displayed at the Showcase School of Photography as well as Oxford College and can currently be viewed at the Southern Heartland Art Gallery on the Square, the downtown location of BB&T and the Chamber of CommerceWelcome Center.

Frady has worked at Oxford College since 1990 and has resided Covington since 1993.
