Hollis Pitts Jr.
Hollis Pitts Jr. died Feb. 15. The son of Mrs. Emmis Pitts and the late Mr. Hollis Pitts, he was born in 1947 in Newton County. He accepted Christ at an early age, joining Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was educated in the Newton County School System where he developed a love for business.
Mr. Pitts attended the University of Toledo and became a certified technician for refrigerant handling. He was also registered as a Conditioned Air Contractor, Class II, by the state of Georgia.
Mr. Pitts was the proud and dedicated owner of Pitts Heating and Air in Covington for over 38 years. He was preceded in death by sister Mary Pitts.
Surviving are wife Sandra Pitts; mother Emmis Pitts of Covington; mother- in- law Barnette Law, Mobile, Ala.; daughters Trice ( Ashley) McIntyre, Montgomery, Ala., Crystal Pitts, California; son Anthony Darty, Covington; stepsons Brett ( Ann) Riley, Conyers, Ronald ( Stephanie) Riley, McDonough; brothers Harry Wellborn, Willie Rogers and Jerome Pitts, all of Covington; grandchildren Coleman and Nicholas McIntyre, Montgomery, Jeremiah Riley, Conyers, Elisha and Kaleb Riley, McDonough; brothers- in- law Leo Reed Jr., Stanley Reed, Eugene Reed of Decatur, Johnathan ( Almisha) Reed of Forest Park, Timeatheous Reed of Mobile, Ala.; sisters- inlaw Lillian ( Jesse) Smith of Decatur, Rhonda ( Arric) Marshall of Mobile, Onica Reed of Lithonia; godmother Ruth Heard; devoted friends Barbara Cobb Brock and Jack Maddox; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Feb. 24 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton D. Mathis officiating.
Interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
