Cald­well

Mil­dred W. Holmes, 76, of So­cial Cir­cle, died March 4 at Abbey Hospice. The daugh­ter of the late William Franklin and An­nie Bar­ron Walker, she was born in Wal­ton County and was a life- long res­i­dent of So­cial Cir­cle and a mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of So­cial Cir­cle. Mrs. Holmes en­joyed yard work, house work and watch­ing At­lanta Braves base­ball. Most of all, she en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily. She is pre­ceded in death by son David Eu­gene Holmes and brothers Henry Walker, J. W. Walker and Bobby Walker.

Sur­viv­ing are hus­band of 60 years Jerry H. Holmes; chil­dren Rita and Clay Har­ris, Terry ( Pete) and Emily Holmes, Karen ( Candy) Holmes, all of So­cial Cir­cle; grand­chil­dren Beth DeLoach, Les­lie DeMars, Jarred Har­ris, Rod­ney Holmes, Kevin Har­ris, Jeremy Holmes, Phillip Loyd, Justin Holmes, Corby Holmes; 10 great- grand­chil­dren; sis­ter Mary Kate Holmes of New­born; daugh­ter- in- law and hus­band Joanne and Gene Loyd of Ox­ford; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Funeral ser­vices will be held at 11 a. m. Thurs­day, March 6, in the Ac­cess Road chapel of Cald­well & Cowan with the Rev. Doug Parham of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Lawn­wood Me­mo­rial Park. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the Ac­cess Road lo­ca­tion of Cald­well & Cowan to­day, March 5, from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m.
