“ Hon­estly, I think the stu- dents aren’t pay­ing much at­ten­tion,” he said.

Michael Sanchez, 19, a first year stu­dent study­ing ar­chi­tec­ture, said he hadn’t known about the event and was sim­ply wait­ing for his ride, but that the food “ smelled heav­enly.”

Amyg­dal­it­sis said he was sat­is­fied with the turnout for the new event and hoped next year an­other or­ga­nizer would ex­am­ine a dif­fer­ent cul­ture’s con­nec­tions to our so­ci­ety.

Brenda Bene­field, or­ga­nizer and ad­min­is­tra­tive sec­re­tary, said “ The whole point is con­nect­ing us and mak­ing the world smaller.”
