Al­covy live­stock win­ners

Seven of Al­covy High School’s FFA mem­bers re­cently com­peted in the New­ton County Clas­sic Live­stock Show at New­ton County High School. Car­rie Og­den was named the Over­all Cham­pion Show­man­ship win­ner and El­iz­a­beth Warbing­ton took top hon­ors in cham­pion Mar­ket Hog.

Show ex­hibitors were given a change to show off their record-keep­ing skills and earn prize money by en­ter­ing the Mar­ket Hog Record book con­test spon­sored by Harry Gal­loway Sr. and Snap­ping Shoals EMC. Other win­ners were Julie Wat­son, Jamie Wat­son, Ash­ley Hol­l­i­day and Ron­nie Few.

Christa Stienkamp judged the Mar­ket Hog Record books and Will Cabe eval­u­ated both swine and cat­tle projects.

The Al­covy Show team also par­tic­i­pated.
