V. David Bishop

Mr. V. David Bishop, 73, of Mansfield, died April 1 at his home. The son of the late William Jack­son and Ju­lia El­lis Bishop, he was born in DeKalb County. Mr. Bishop was pres­i­dent of Bishop & Berg­bower Con­trac­tors, a com­mer­cial pipe­line busi­ness for 36 years. He was a vet­eran of the U.S. Army, serv­ing from 1956 to 1958, en­joyed wood­crafts and was loved by his wife, chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren. He was a lov­ing brother.

Sur­viv­ing are wife of 49 years Bob­bie Bishop of Mansfield; daugh­ter Bar­bara Austin of Cony­ers; son and daugh­terin-law Michael and Michele Bishop of Cony­ers; grand­chil­dren Bob­bie and Kevin Ciss­ner, Stephanie and Robby Er­win, Jamie Bishop; great­grand­chil­dren Wy­att, Blake and Austin; brothers and sis­ters-in-law Jack and Martha Bishop of Ea­ton­ton, Charles Bishop of Cal­i­for­nia, Ralph and Eloise Bishop of Sparta, Pete and Ar­lene Bishop, Joe and Alice Bishop, all of Mansfield; nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

Funeral ser­vices were held April 3 in the Ac­cess Road chapel of Cald­well & Cowan with Dale Mauldin of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment fol­lowed in Eter­nal Hills Me­mory Gar­dens, Snel­lville.
