Robbery occurs on Salem Road

Susie’s Best Wings site of armed heist

The Covington News - - Crime & Courts -

Employees of Susie’s Best Wings, 3257 Salem Road, were robbed at gunpoint of approximately $500 at 9:35 p.m. on Monday by two black males, both carrying guns, according to an incident report released by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

The owner said she was about to close the store but left the front door open for a customer who called in a take-out order when the robbers reportedly entered the restaurant.

According to a report from the Newton County Deputy David Altwies, the two men entered the opened door and forced their way behind the counter. Yun said both were wearing all black clothing and one was wearing blue rubber gloves. According to reports, both carried guns and the one with blue gloves opened the cash register but found no money. He then allegedly pointed his pistol at Yun’s head and yelled, “Where’s the money?”

She handed over a small blue bag from under the counter, and the robber reportedly emptied approximately $500 in cash from the bag. The other male went to the kitchen and took a wallet and cell phone from an employee. Then both male subjects ran out the front door.
