East­side’s Tay­lor Smith signs golf schol­ar­ship

East­side High’sTay­lor Smith capped his se­nior year Mon­day by sign­ing a golf schol­ar­ship with Ge­or­gia Col­lege.

Yet there is still one more task at hand be­fore Smith makes the jump to the next level— com­pet­ing in the Class AAAA state tour­na­ment on Mon­day at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Au­gusta.

Smith, who has been the No. 1 golfer for the Ea­gles dur­ing his four-year ten­ure, shot a 3un­der 69 last week to win the medal­ist honor and lead East- side to a sec­ond-place fin­ish in the Re­gion 8-AAAA tour­na­ment at Inns­bruck Re­sort and Golf Club in He­len.
