Mother El­iza Mae Cole­man TurkdiedSept. 1in­New­tonCounty. The daugh­ter of the late Roy and Mat­tie (Hicks) Cole­man, she was born in 1919 in Jasper County. Mrs. Turk was of­ten called “Lisa Mae,” “Mae” and “Ma” by her fam­ily and friends and was a de­voted mem­ber of Shiloh Bap­tist Church which al­ways had a spe­cial place in her heart and life. She at­tended school there and worked faith­fully there from an early age serv­ing as sec­re­tary for over 50 years and orig­i­nat­ing the Shiloh Burial So­ci­ety. Dur­ing her life, Mrs. Turk touched the lives of her fam­ily and friends with a loving and giv­ing heart. She lived by faith daily and en­joyed a sim­ple life, giv­ing her all to Shiloh, cook­ing cus­tards to give away, pre­par­ing Brunswick stew with Jack, fish­ing with Cora and Ellen, trav­el­ing with Wil­lie Bell and the Friendly Twelve Club and rid­ing with “Lip,” David, Ashley and Ri­ley while en­joy­ing the sights and calm­ing her great-grand­son Pa­trick. She was pre­ceded in death by hus­band Wil­lie Frank Turk and son Frank Turk.

Sur­viv­ing are sons Roy (Hen­ri­etta) Fears of Rut­ledge, Clyde (Deborah) Turk of Cov­ing­ton, CharlesTurk of Litho­nia, Michael TurkofCov­ing­ton; daugh­ter­sWil­lia Lue (Leroy) But­ler of At­lanta, Shirley (David James) Nol­ley of Cov­ing­ton, Elaine (Jarvis) Reyn- olds of De­catur, Dorothy (Grady) John­son of Cov­ing­ton; grand­chil­dren Tammy (Dex­ter) Nol­ley, Lajuan Nol­ley, Marissa John­son, Ashley Nol­ley, An­gela Nol­ley, An­gela (Larry) Marks, Lisa Aikens, Casan­dra Turk, Ka­p­athia Turk, Kim­berly Turk, Sammy Aikens, Wayne Turk, Shena Turk, Flota­cia McKnight, Ca­role Turk, Mir­a­cle Turk, Miriah Turk, all of Cov­ing­ton, Shameda (Shan­non) Allen of Indianapolis, Ind, Ja­son Turk and Jaryn Reynolds, both of De­catur; great-grand­chil­dren Raphel Nol­ley, Boyce Nol­ley, Pa­trick Nol­ley-Willis; 27 other great-grand­chil­dren; sis­ter-in­law Eve­lyn Turk of El­len­wood; de­voted fam­ily and friends Cora Mitchell, Shir­lene Har­ris, Joann Aikens Turk; a host of nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 1 p.m. to­day, Sept. 5, at Shiloh Bap­tist Church, Far­rar, with the Rev. Jimmy Horton, Pas­tor C.L. Bryant, Evan­ge­list Melissa Horton and the Rev. Os­car Craw­ford of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment fol­lowed at Ox­ford His­tor­i­cal Ceme­tery.
