3 men ar­rested for drugs

A young man who went to the Cov­ing­ton Po­lice Depart­ment to re­port that he was robbed at gun­point dur­ing a drug deal, ended up ar­rested him­self af­ter of­fi­cers found drugs and drug para­pher­na­lia in his ve­hi­cle.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, 19-year-old Cortez Donte Dud­ley came to the CPD af­ter 1 a.m. Fri­day to re­port an armed rob­bery. He brought with him two wit­nesses, 20-year-old Tshovie Deante Smith and 18-year old Bran­don Dior Jef­fer­son. Af­ter speak­ing with the men, of­fi­cers re­port­edly de­duced the armed rob­bery was ac­tu­ally a drug deal gone bad.

Dud­ley re­port­edly told of­fi­cers that he had gone to Green Acres in an at­tempted to pur­chase Ec­stasy and that Smith and Jef­fer­son both knew they were go­ing to the area to pur­chase the drug.
