Earl Jackson Langston
Mr. Earl Jackson Langston Sr., 78, of Oxford, died Sept. 14. The son of the late Andrew Jackson Langston and Gladys Onzell Edwards Langston, he was born in Jefferson County, Ala., in 1930. He was retired from the Atlanta Journal Constitution where he worked as mailroom foreman. Mr. Langston was a member of The Church at Covington and enjoyed working in the yard and bowling. Mr. Langston is preceded in death by his parents, brother Wilburn George Langston and sister Evelyn Williams.
Surviving are wife Judith Chandler Langston; daughters and sons- in- law Cheryl and Westleon Rogers of Conyers, Jo Ann and Brian Hyde of Rutledge, Karen and Robert Trainer of Oxford; sons Earl Langston Jr. of Macon, John Earl Langston of Oxford; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for will be 2 p. m., today, Sept. 17 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Phil Payton officiating. A private interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. Mr. EddieWebb Jr. died Sept. 9. The son of the late Mr. Eddie Webb Sr. and Mrs. JulieWeaver Webb, he was born in 1952. He attended Newton County High School until he joined the Armed Forces for four years, receiving an honorable discharge. He was employed at Flambeau in Madison. He was preceded in death by his brother mr. Michael Webb. He married Agnes Ross in 1976.
Surviving are wife Mrs. Agnes Ross Webb; children Eddie (Angela) Webb of Covington, ValenciaWebb of Shady Dale, Melissa Webb of Covington; brothers Stanley Parker of Covington, Billy Webb of Jackson, Julius (Judy) Webb of Conyers, Julian Webb of Decatur; sisters Judy Parker of McDonough, Nancy and Carrie Webb of Decatur; motherin-law Naomi Ross of Shady Dale; grandchildren DeAtrius Stone, Cori Griggs, Essense Webb, Kristal, Christopher, Kristi Webb, Malik Crawford, Naya and Mauri Webb; brothers-in-law Freddie (Mia) Ross of Atlanta, Georgia Walker (Sonya) Ross, Andrew (Gale) Ross of Shady Dale, Michael (Darlene) Ross of Eatonton; sisters-in-law Veronica and Belinda Ross of Shady Dale, Carl and Mary Lawson of Eatonton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 15 at New Enon Baptist Church, Godfrey, with the Rev. Albert Baker and the Rev. J.M. Stutton officiating. Interment followed at New Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Godfrey.
