Earl Jack­son Langston

Mr. Earl Jack­son Langston Sr., 78, of Ox­ford, died Sept. 14. The son of the late An­drew Jack­son Langston and Gla­dys Onzell Ed­wards Langston, he was born in Jef­fer­son County, Ala., in 1930. He was re­tired from the At­lanta Jour­nal Con­sti­tu­tion where he worked as mail­room fore­man. Mr. Langston was a mem­ber of The Church at Cov­ing­ton and en­joyed work­ing in the yard and bowl­ing. Mr. Langston is pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, brother Wil­burn Ge­orge Langston and sis­ter Eve­lyn Wil­liams.

Sur­viv­ing are wife Ju­dith Chan­dler Langston; daugh­ters and sons- in- law Ch­eryl and Westleon Rogers of Cony­ers, Jo Ann and Brian Hyde of Rut­ledge, Karen and Robert Trainer of Ox­ford; sons Earl Langston Jr. of Ma­con, John Earl Langston of Ox­ford; eight grand­chil­dren; five great grand­chil­dren; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

The fu­neral ser­vice for will be 2 p. m., to­day, Sept. 17 in the Chapel of Wheeler Fu­neral Home with Phil Pay­ton of­fi­ci­at­ing. A pri­vate in­ter­ment will fol­low at Lawn­wood Memo­rial Park. Flow­ers will be ac­cepted or do­na­tions may be made to The Church at Cov­ing­ton, 11975 Ga. Hwy. 142N, Ox­ford, Ga. 30054.

Mr. Ed­dieWebb Jr. died Sept. 9. The son of the late Mr. Ed­die Webb Sr. and Mrs. JulieWeaver Webb, he was born in 1952. He at­tended New­ton County High School un­til he joined the Armed Forces for four years, re­ceiv­ing an honor­able dis­charge. He was em­ployed at Flam­beau in Madi­son. He was pre­ceded in death by his brother mr. Michael Webb. He mar­ried Agnes Ross in 1976.

Fu­neral ser­vices were held Sept. 15 at New Enon Bap­tist Church, God­frey, with the Rev. Al­bert Baker and the Rev. J.M. Stut­ton of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment fol­lowed at New Enon Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery, God­frey.
