Social Circle’s City Council made a wise decision this past week when they agreed unanimously to enter into a $6,000 service agreement with the Boys and Girls Club. We see this action as the first step in a long-time commitment to the children of Social Circle

Thethree-and-half-year-old club has already grown to a membership of 220 children in the Social Circle area.

Boys and Girls Club of America has served the youth of this country proudly for 102 years.

Since its beginning, hundreds of thousands of our nation’s children have received the education and training to become successful businessmen, community advocates and government leaders.

The Boys and Girls Club turns no one away if they cannot pay the modest dues, thanks to donations from businesses and community members, scholarships are provided.

Social Circle’s club is just beginning to spread its wings, and its value to the community will increase in time.

The investment by the city fathers and mothers of Social Circle insures there will be a safe place for the children of their community to learn and grow.

A Boys and Girls Club is truly more than a building; it is a positive place where children can be safe, have fun and to learn concepts they will carry into adulthood.
