East­side keeps rolling in Re­gion 8-AAA

Hen­der­son fans 16 in 4-1 win over Hart Co.

De­spite not feel­ing well, Amanda Hen­der­son con­tin­ued her as­sault on East­side's record book as she recorded a sea­son-high 16 strike­outs in a 4-1 victory over re­gion foe Hart County the Tues­day with a 4-1 victory of Hart County.

“She wasn’t feel­ing well and I just found this out. Ap­par­ently she didn’t want me to know,” East­side coach Heather Wood said. “She’s one of those men­tally strong play­ers so even if she isn’t feel­ing well, I know she is go­ing to pull through and do what she can to help us.”

The win puts the Lady Ea­gles (164-1. 5-1 Re­gion 8-AAA) even with Oconee County in the loss col­umn and in a vir­tual tie for first place in the re­gion.

“It’s get­ting to that time of year where we are comfortable and we’re play­ing at the level we’re ca­pa­ble of play­ing at,” Wood said. “It’s taken us a lit­tle while to get here. We had a bit of a rough start in the beginning but I think we’re in a good spot right now.”

Hen­der­son set the tone from the beginning. She struck out the side in or­der be­fore the Lady Ea­gles picked up a run in the bot­tom of the first in­ning to take an early 1-0 lead.
