Eastside keeps rolling in Region 8-AAA
Henderson fans 16 in 4-1 win over Hart Co.
Despite not feeling well, Amanda Henderson continued her assault on Eastside's record book as she recorded a season-high 16 strikeouts in a 4-1 victory over region foe Hart County the Tuesday with a 4-1 victory of Hart County.
“She wasn’t feeling well and I just found this out. Apparently she didn’t want me to know,” Eastside coach Heather Wood said. “She’s one of those mentally strong players so even if she isn’t feeling well, I know she is going to pull through and do what she can to help us.”
The win puts the Lady Eagles (164-1. 5-1 Region 8-AAA) even with Oconee County in the loss column and in a virtual tie for first place in the region.
“It’s getting to that time of year where we are comfortable and we’re playing at the level we’re capable of playing at,” Wood said. “It’s taken us a little while to get here. We had a bit of a rough start in the beginning but I think we’re in a good spot right now.”
Henderson set the tone from the beginning. She struck out the side in order before the Lady Eagles picked up a run in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
