Larry E. Jow­ers

Fu­neral Home Larry E. Jow­ers, 66, of Ox­ford, passed away Sept. 30. Mr. Jow­ers en­joyed watch­ing foot­ball, es­pe­cially the Pitts­burg Steel­ers. He was pre­ceded in death by par­ents William and Essie Spur­lock Jow­ers.

Sur­viv­ing are wife Edith Jow­ers; daugh­ters and son-in­law Stephanie and Rusty Fuller of Jer­sey, April Jow­ers of Ten­nessee; sons and daugh­ter-in­law An­thony and Katie Jow­ers of Pen­sacola, Fla., Rollin Jow­ers of Braden­ton, Fla., El­ton Jow­ers of Ten­nessee; grand­chil­dren Andy and Tif­fany Fuller, Ryan Fuller, Kim­berly Jow­ers, Leeanna Jow­ers; great­grand­son Levi Fuller.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. to­day, Oct. 3, in the Ac­cess Road chapel of Cald­well & Cowan, with in­ter­ment fol­low­ing in The Ge­or­gia Vet­er­ans Memo­rial Ceme­tery, 2617 Vin­son High­way, Milledgeville.

Elsie Rivers Knight

Wheeler Fu­neral Home & Cre­ma­tory Mrs. Elsie Rivers Knight, 86, of Cov­ing­ton, died Oct. 1. The daugh­ter of the late Hin­ton Rivers and Mary Lou Phelps Rivers, she was born in 1922 in Henry County. Mrs. Knight was a long­time mem­ber of Prospect United Methodist Church, was an avid gar­dener, loved to cook and was a very hard worker. She started work­ing at the Bibb Man­u­fac­tur­ing com­pany at age 17 and worked there for 33 years and then went to work for C & D Bat­tery in Cony­ers for 12 years. Mrs. Knight was a loving mother, grand­mother, great-grand­mother and moth­erin-law. She was a very giv­ing per­son. Mrs. Knight was pre­ceded in death by par­ents and hus­band William E. Knight.

Sur­viv­ing are sons and daugh­ters-in-law James and Ch­eryl Knight of Cov­ing­ton, David and Char­lotte Rivers of Jones­boro; grand­chil­dren Bill and Alyson Knight, Lee and Joy Knight, Davy Rivers, Danny and Donna Rivers, Den­nis and Mandy Rivers; 11 great­grand­chil­dren; one great-great­grand­child.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. to­day, Oct. 3, at Lawn­wood Memo­rial Park. Lee Knight will of­fi­ci­ate the ser­vice.
