Sher­iff's, BOC Chair­men, com­mis­sion­ers and other lo­cal candidates an­swer ques­tions at 2008 Can­di­date's Fo­rum

The 2008 Candidates’ Fo­rum spon­sored by The Cov­ing­ton News, The Cov­ing­ton/New­ton County Cham­ber of Com­merce and the New­ton County Farm Bureau fea­tured 17 of the 18 candidates run­ning for lo­cal and state offices in New­ton County.

All au­di­ence seats were oc­cu­pied dur­ing the event, which was held at the Turner Lake Com­plex, leav­ing stand­ing room only. The event was mod­er­ated by Cham­ber Pres­i­dent John Boothby and News Pub­lisher Charles Hill Mor­ris.

Ar­gu­ing that her years as a real es­tate de­vel­op­ment banker and turn­around spe­cial­ist have given her the nec­es­sary ex­pe­ri­ence to run the dayto-day op­er­a­tions of the county as county chair­man and to bring more eco­nomic growth to the county, Dem-
