So­cial Cir­cle wins 54-18, clinches post sea­son berth

SO­CIAL CIR­CLE — The So­cial Cir­cle Red­skins won big on home­com­ing Fri­day night, de­feat­ing re­gion op­po­nent Prince Av­enue Chris­tian 54-18. The blowout win also earned So­cial Cir­cle a trip to this year's 8-A sec­tional play­offs. The game started off with a bang. On the very first play, Prince Av­enue's star run­ning back and re­turn man An­thony Ball ran the open­ing kick­off all the way back for a touch­down, stun­ning the So­cial Cir­cle (5-3) play­ers, coaches and fans. So­cial Cir­cle blocked the PAT at­tempt and the Wolver­ines (3-5-1) had a 6-0 lead af­ter only a minute of play. Af­ter get­ting the ball back on the fol­low­ing kick­off, So­cial Cir­cle used sev­eral dif­fer­ent play­ers, in­clud­ing the quar­ter­back, to run the ball down the field. A 35-yard run by full­back Randy Paulus put the Red­skins in Wolver­ine ter­ri­tory. A few plays later, ju­nior split end Christo­pher Burns ran the ball into the end zone for a touch­down to tie the game up at 6-6. So­cial Cir­cle con­verted the 2-point con­ver­sion and to make the score it 8-6 Red­skins.
