Irene Driver

Mrs. Irene Driver, 91, a life­long res­i­dent of the Cony­ers and Cov­ing­ton area, died Dec. 23. The daugh­ter of the late Labon Fes­tus Gunn and An­nie Lee Ada Pre­ston Gunn, she was born in 1917 in Henry County. She was a mem­ber of Hopewell Pres­by­te­rian Church af­ter hav­ing been of the Bap­tist faith as a child. Mrs. Driver raised nine chil­dren and loved them all. She is pre­ceded in death by par­ents, hus­band Mr. Hu­bert Driver and sons Leon, Ge­orge, Harold and William Driver.

Sur­viv­ing are daugh­ters Joyce Kersey of Litho­nia, Don­nie Blake of Cony­ers, Luanne Wren of Cony­ers; daugh­ter and son-in­law Martha and Char­lie Miller of Mon­roe; son and daugh­ter-in-law J.D. and Brenda Driver of Cony­ers; 16 grand­chil­dren; 22 great-grand­chil­dren; six great-great-grand­chil­dren; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, other fam­ily and friends.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be at 11 a.m. Satur­day, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Wheeler Fu­neral Home with the Rev. Ju­nior Snipes of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Bay Creek Ceme­tery, Lo­ganville. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends to­day, Dec. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the fu­neral home.
