UGA, Tech waive fee for athletic event Web casts for military personnel
“I am delighted both the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech are once again providing free Internet broadcasts of their athletic events for our nation’s military heroes,” said Sen. Douglas. “I hope that this service will help boost the morale of our soldiers who give endlessly so that we might enjoy these games.”
This service was an initiative of Senator Douglas in 2006 after he visited with troops along the U.S.–Mexico border who wished to access their alma mater’s games but were deterred by the costs. The service has been offered for the past three years.
Military personnel wishing to access Bulldog games can do so by visiting www.georgiadogs.com. Click on the Multimedia tab and follow the instructions for military listeners. Anyone with a U.S. military e-mail that ends in “.mil” will be able, after an application process, to listen to the UGA sporting events.
Georgia Tech games are available to listen to free of charge via the Internet, at http:// all-access. cstv. com/ cstv/ player/ player. html? code= geot. Follow the instructions for military access.
