Al­li­son Doyle, first Emily Gu­tier­rez, sec­ond genre to stu­dents in high schools af­fil­i­ated with the col­lege’s cam­puses.

The com­pe­ti­tion is a cel­e­bra­tion of the art of writ­ing and an en­rich­ment of stu­dents’ ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence. An awards cer­e­mony pub­licly rec­og­nizes the award win­ners at a GPC lo­ca­tion and is an event where stu­dents, fam­i­lies, high school teach­ers and prin­ci­pals, as well as, GPC fac­ulty and ad­min­is­tra­tion ac­knowl­edge the achieve­ment of the award win­ners whose work ap­pears in the chap­book, Copia; they are pub­lished au­thors. Win­ners also re­ceive a gift in recog­ni­tion of their se­lec­tion.”
