R.L. Cousins alums to meet June 27

sire to or­ga­nize an alumni group for many, many years.” The class of 1969 de­cided to “test the wa­ter” and out of that vi­sion the alumni as­so­ci­a­tion be­came a re­al­ity. It has been said that “a jour­ney of a thou­sand miles be­gins with one step.” The as­so­ci­a­tion is look­ing for­ward to a pros­per­ous jour­ney as they at­tempt to en­hance ed­u­ca­tional op­por­tu­ni­ties and help to fa­cil­i­tate pos­i­tive learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ences for some stu­dents who may need a boost on their ed­u­ca­tional jour­neys.

Ac­cord­ing to Benton, “It is time for us to show the yield of re­turn on the in­vest­ment that was made in us as stu­dents of R.L. Cousins school. We have de­ter­mined that our jour­ney must be­gin with ‘one step back,’ so on Sun­day, June 27 at 5 p.m. at Un­der the Stars Ban­quet Cen­ter, we will ‘step back’ and gather to­gether our for­mer school teach­ers, ad­min­is­tra­tors and staff and say thank you for a job well done. “

An in­vi­ta­tion is ex­tended to the com­mu­nity and all R.L. Cousins stu­dents to come out in a show of sup­port.

This event is be­ing held in con­junc­tion with the cul­mi­na­tion of a mem­ber­ship drive for the as­so­ci­a­tion. The alumni as­so­ci­a­tion is ask­ing all “Wolver­ines” to come pre­pared to sign up to join an or­ga­ni­za­tion that shows all the signs of be­ing “fit for the jour­ney.”
