Snap­ping Shoals EMC an­nual meet­ing is July 15

Snap­ping Shoals mem­bers will meet un­der the shel­ter of the Charles Walker Arena, where there will be sev­eral hun­dred chairs set up in ad­di­tion to the bleacher seat­ing. Plenty of free park­ing will also be avail­able. Snap­ping Shoals will pro­vide free soft drinks and snow cones through­out the day, and a va­ri­ety of foods may be pur­chased from the Horse Park for lunch. High­lights will in­clude in­for­ma­tional booths, a health fair, chil­dren’s games, reg­is­tra­tion gifts and a draw­ing for prizes.

The grand prize this year is a 2003 Ford F-250 that is be­ing re­tired from the Snap­ping Shoals fleet. Other prizes in­clude a color tele­vi­sion, DVD player and mi­crowave oven, to name just a few. The old­est mar­ried cou­ple in at­ten­dance will re­ceive a $ 100 credit on their Snap­ping Shoals power bill. You must be a Snap­ping Shoals EMC mem­ber, be reg­is­tered at the meet­ing and be present for the draw­ing to be el­i­gi­ble to win a prize.

Snap­ping Shoals Elec­tric Mem­ber­ship Cor­po­ra­tion is a con­sumer-owned co­op­er­a­tive that pro­vides elec­tric ser­vice to about 95,000 homes and busi­nesses in an eight-county area. Most of its ser­vice area is in Newton, Rock­dale, Henry and DeKalb coun­ties. Por­tions of Butts, Wal­ton, Mor­gan and Jasper coun­ties are also in­cluded.
