In­dian Creek, Oaks tee off for Cov­ing­ton Cup

Teams made up of mem­bers of In­dian Creek Golf Club and The Oaks Course will again face off in the Cov­ing­ton Cup this week­end.

Twelve-mem­ber teams play head-to-head in two rounds of Ry­der Cup for­mat golf. Round one will be Satur­day at In­dian Creek with Sun­day's fi­nal round at The Oaks.

In­dian Creek is the de­fend­ing champ and is yet to lose the Cup in the first two years. In­dian Creek won it19.5 to 4.5.

A lot of vet­er­ans lit­ter each team.In­dian Creek's team will con­sist of Stephen Hall, Al­covy golfer Matt Moore, Frank Webster, Joe Grady, Mike Lott, Keith Fir­sher, Matt Vaughn, Shane Mill­wood, Michael Shaf­fer, Tony Dowdy, Mark Gun­trope and East­side phe­nom Tate Miller. Mar­shall Moore will be the al­ter­nate.

The Oaks has plenty of golfers back too. Club Champ and Newton bas­ket­ball coach Rick Ras­mussen leads the group which also con­sists of for­mer Club Champ Randy Ea­ton, net champ Scott Pruitt and se­nior champ Joel Criss­man. Richard Shue, Paul Hack­ett, Joe Pittman, Phillip Lehman, Bob Brit­ton, Dick Shulz, Tay­lor Lazenby and Bob Crea­ger round out The Oaks team. Mike Smith and Eric Schrep­ple are al­ter­nates.
