Newton Med­i­cal Cen­ter ranks top ten in an­nual sur­vey of Ge­or­gia hos­pi­tals

Pul­monary ser­vice and gas­troin­testi­nal med­i­cal treat­ment at Newton Med­i­cal Cen­ter has earned Top 10 rank­ings from HealthGrades.

The med­i­cal cen­ter placed sixth for pul­monary ser­vices and 10th for gas­troin­testi­nal treat­ment.

“Newton Med­i­cal Cen­ter is hon­ored to re­ceive recog­ni­tion for our pul­monary and gas­troin­testi­nal ser­vices, and we are com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing su­pe­rior care for all the health and med­i­cal ser­vices we of­fer,” said Ad­min­is­tra­tor and CEO Jim Wead­ick in a re­lease.

HealthGrades, Inc. is an in­de­pen­dent health­care rat­ings or­ga­ni­za­tion that rates each of the nation’s 5,000-plus short-term, crit­i­cal-care hos­pi­tals, based on data from state and fed­eral gov­ern­ments. The rat­ings and the rank­ings pro­cesses are based on out­comes and there is no cost to the hos­pi­tals be­ing rated, nor can a hos­pi­tal opt in or out of be­ing rated.
