Change the World, Im­pact the Com­mu­nity Day to be held May 7

Cov­ing­ton First United Methodist Church will cel­e­brate its sec­ond an­nual Change The World, Im­pact The Com­mu­nity Day on May 7.

The event will be­gin with The Steeple Chase, a 1-mile fun run at 7:30 a.m. and a 5K race at 8 a.m.

Com­mu­nity events will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in­clud­ing Chris­tian mu­sic; a com­mu­nity ser­vice fair and health screen­ings; a bar­be­cue and dessert cook-off; ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren in­clud­ing a pet­ting zoo, games, crafts and booths; art dis­plays; and a blood drive.

A Screen on the Green movie and con­cert be­gins at 7:30 p.m.

The event is de­signed to bring a com­mu­nity of faith to­gether for lo­cal mis­sions, ac­cord­ing to a re­lease.

Col­lec­tions and money raised in the event will be do­nated to the min­istries in­clud­ing FaithWorks, Food Pantry, Sack Lunch Min­istry, New­ton Med­i­cal Hos­pi­tal Aux­il­iary, Wash­ing­ton Street Com­mu­nity Cen­ter, Home­less Shel­ter and the Cov­ing­ton Lions Club.
