The Covington News - - The second front -

You know the sceneyou’re in the car on the way home. It’s the middle of the week, 6 p.m. on a school night. You have to do homework, baths and chores when you get home, but, oh, wait! What’s for supper?!

How often has this happened to you, friends? You have no idea what’s in the pantry or the freezer and no idea what you need for whatever you can make in 10 minutes or less, right? Having a monthly menu plan will keep you on track and out of the drive thru. Monthly menu planning may seem like a huge undertaking at first, but this saves my family so much money and time. Plus, it’s pretty simple to do — especially if you are stocking up on things from those coupons plus sales.

With a planned menu, you have everything you need for a bunch of dif- ferent meals already on hand. You aren’t ordering out, popping convenience food in the microwave, or running by the store again, because you don’t know what to make for supper.
