A roundup of your remarks and comments
Our friends were talking this week about a federal judge ruling against portions of Georgia’s new law cracking down on illegal immigration, and about a story of how a disabled veteran and his family are having to move from a suburban Augusta neighborhood because the homeowners association had complained. You can join the conversation thread, too, at our Facebook page.
Here’s a sampling of comments:
If illegal immigrants aren’t paying taxes, it’s the employers fault; not the worker themselves. The IRS issues an ITIN regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have Federal tax return and payment responsibilities under the Internal Revenue Code. o!

That story on the Vet just brakes my heart:-( and for shame on the Homeowners association. This man fought for all of us and for them to treat him like that just because the house was not large enough well let’s just say is down right RIDICULOUS!!!! t!

You can add comments to stories online at covnews.com. Here’s a sampling of comments on a story about the recreation commission closing Turner Lake on Saturdays:
Saturdays?????? why on earth would you close it on Saturdays? that’s when the kids are outta school and would be at the gym. hey evry1nozits, great idea! Also, i totally agree, NC needs a swimming pool badly, We have to give these kids something to do, and God knows we don’t have a lot to offer, Turner Lake is the only bright spot for the rec dept..
Has anyone thought about organizing some of the youth to maintain the parks to pay off their fees? hey.
