Jonathan An­drews grad­u­ates from GDOL’S 2011 EX­CEL pro­gram

Jonathan An­drews of New­ton County, sec­ond from right, a unit su­per­vi­sor in the Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of La­bor’s Cov­ing­ton Ca­reer Cen­ter, has grad­u­ated from the depart­ment’s re­cent class of its Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­ment to Ex­cel­lence in Lead­er­ship pro­gram.

EX­CEL is de­signed to de­velop fu­ture lead­ers for the depart­ment. Classes ex­plore the ma­jor po­lit­i­cal, so­cial, and eco­nomic is­sues fac­ing the state and nation. EX­CEL is a part­ner­ship be­tween the GDOL and the Univer­sity of Ge­or­gia’s Carl Vin­son In­sti­tute of Gov­ern­ment.

The grad­u­a­tion cer­e­mony was held re­cently in Athens. Par­tic­i­pat­ing in the grad­u­a­tion were, left to right, Laura Mead­ows, di­rec­tor of ed­u­ca­tion and de­vel­op­ment for the Carl Vin­son In­sti­tute; Brooke Lu­cas, deputy com­mis­sioner of work­force so­lu­tions for the Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of La­bor; and David Key, EX­CEL fa­cil­i­ta­tor for the Carl Vin­son In­sti­tute.
