The Covington Y is kicking off new programs for children and adults of all ages as the dog days of summer set in.

The Y’s children's day camp is still in full swing, with offerings between 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every weekday, including plenty of exercise, other activities and snacks at a cost of $95 per week. As always, the Y offers financial assistance to those in need for all programs.

“I’ve had so many parents thank me for how tired their child is at the end of day camp. Sometimes the kids fall asleep in the car on the way home," said Y Director Louly Hay Kapp. “Exercise has become a thing of the past in some cases, because we spend so much time behind computers or other devices, only using our thumbs.”
