Barthelemy rec­og­nized as Cer­ti­fied Reg­is­tered Lock­smith

James A. Barthelemy of Pre­ci­sion Lock­smith in Cov­ing­ton, re­cently earned the des­ig­na­tion of Cer­ti­fied Reg­is­tered Lock­smith by the Dal­las-based Associated Lock­smiths of Amer­ica.

The cer­ti­fied reg­is­tered lock­smith cre­den­tial pro­vides an ob­jec­tive mea­sure of an in­di­vid­ual’s knowl- edge and com­pe­tency in lock­smithing and phys­i­cal se­cu­rity. It is rec­og­nized as the lock­smith pro­fes­sion’s first level of cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.

Barthelemy had to demon­strate that he had met cer­tain ed­u­ca­tion and work ex­pe­ri­ence qual­i­fi­ca­tions. He then had to pass a com­pre­hen­sive ex­am­i­na­tion that tested his knowl­edge and skills in ma­jor ar­eas of lock­smithing and phys­i­cal se­cu­rity.

To main­tain his cre­den­tials, Barthelemy must ap­ply for re­cer­ti­fi­ca­tion ev­ery three years. The ALOA Pro­fi­ciency Reg­is­tra­tion Pro­gram was in­tro­duced in 1985, and Barthelemy is one of more than 2,700 phys­i­cal se­cu­rity pro­fes­sion­als to achieve this level.
