Lo­cal FFA chap­ters to at­tend con­ven­tion

Al­covy FFA, New­ton County FFA and East­side FFA will at­tend the 84th Ge­or­gia FFA Con­ven­tion March 26 – 28 in Ma­con. All three FFA chap­ters will be re­ceiv­ing sev­eral awards as well as com­pet­ing in sev­eral events. Josie Stamps ( New­ton), Ethan Kitchens (Al­covy) and Sierra Pruitt (New­ton) will be com­pet­ing on the state level with their area win­ning pro­fi­cien­cies. Al­covy FFA En­vi­ron­men­tal and Na­tional Re­sources team (Robert Aiken, Dil­lon Parker, Ethan Kitchens, and Luke Ba­gley) will ac­cept their award for their 3rd in State vic­tory.

Ev­ery year the Ge­or­gia FFA con­fers upon mem­bers the State FFA De­gree. Mem­bers re­ceiv­ing their State De­gree must have been in agri­cul­tural ed­u­ca­tion classes for at least two years, re­ceived the chap­ter de­gree and must have a qual­ity Su- per­vised Agri­cul­tural Ex­pe­ri­ence Pro­gram. Mem­bers from NCSS re­ceiv­ing their State De­gree are from New­ton County FFA Bri­anna Gal­loway, Kayla Ea­son, and Josie Stamps, from East­side FFA Colton Long, from Al­covy FFA Dil­lon Parker, Se­lena Vance and Sa­van­nah Kuhns. Sin­gled out for good per­for­mance were Monty Laster, Ron­nie Lynch, Terry Rut­ledge, Buster Moore, Free­man Batch­e­lor, Tim Chris­tian, Wen­dell Tarken­ton, Tim Ex­ley, Ala Spillers, Danny Trib­ble, Charles Hunt, James Knight, Roger Young, James Han­cock, Johnny Ch­es­nut, Walker Bird­song, Jef­fry Hin­ton, Den­nis Ham­monds, Reuben Whis­nante, Lanier Craw­ley and Jimmy Wi­ley.
