Alcovy is looking to get in the win column for the first time in the young 2012 football season, and will have a tough task in doing so.

The Tigers travel to Perry, against a team that was ranked in the top 10 in Class AAAA, headed into the season. However, in week one, the Panthers fell to No. 1 ranked Peach County 21- 14.

Perry topped Peach County with 18 first downs to its 11, but committed two turnovers.

The Tigers are familiar with turnovers, committing four in the opening game, a 21-16 loss to Jones County at Sharp Stadium on Aug. 30.

Alcovy will need to improve on its ability to hang on to the ball, along with getting better timing on the offensive end.

Quarterback Marcus Williams threw two interceptions, but passed for 69 yards and a touchdown. Leading the way for the Tigers’ offense was Cornell White with 57 yards rushing and 41 yards receiving.

The Tigers defensive line stepped up with several sacks against the Greyhounds as the Alcovy looks to continue building during its four non-region games.
