Two men ar­rested for mo­lesta­tion, one charged

Two men were ar­rested re­cently for mo­lest­ing young girls, ac­cord­ing to law en­force­ment of­fi­cials.

The first man, a 33-yearold Cov­ing­ton man, was ar­rested and charged with ag­gra­vated child mo­lesta­tion and cru­elty to chil­dren, af­ter a child who was known to him re­ported im­pro­pri­eties to her mother.

Larry Arthur Kruel was ar­rested Tues­day, fol­low­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the New­ton County Sher­iff’s Of­fice into the al­le­ga­tions.

Ac­cord­ing to NCSO Lt. Keith Crum, the 9-year-old girl told her mother that Kruel had mo­lested her. Crum said he be­lieved it hap­pened only one time and in­cluded in­ap­pro­pri­ate touch­ing of the child.

Kruel has no crim­i­nal his­tory in­volv­ing any sort of sex­ual crimes, ac­cord­ing to Crum. He re­mains in the New­ton County Jail with no bond set as of yet.

The sec­ond man, a Ghana na­tive was ar­rested Sept. 5, charged with the on­go­ing mo­lesta­tion of a

now 16-year-old girl.

The teenager re­port­edly made an out­cry to her high school coun­selor, telling her that 40-yearold Za­mani Tar­lyn Davis had been touch­ing her in­ap­pro­pri­ately for sev­eral years. The coun- selor no­ti­fied school re­source of­fi­cers who took the in­for­ma­tion to New­ton County Sher­iff’s in­ves­ti­ga­tors. They found enough prob­a­ble cause to ar­rest Davis.

Davis was charged with ag­gra­vated child mo­lesta­tion and sex­ual bat­tery. He spent two days in the New­ton County Jail be­fore bond­ing out on a $19,450 prop­erty bond.
