Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion Com­mis­sioner Down­ing Mus­grove has an­nounced that 901 miles or 78.3 per­cent of the state’s In­ter­state High­ways are now open to the traf­fic.

An­other 138 miles are cur­rently un­der con­struc­tion, the Com­mis­sioner added.

State DOT road de­sign­ers have an ad­di­tional 87.3 miles of In­ter­states on the draw­ing board.

A to­tal net­work of 1,150.5 miles of the su­per-fast road­ways are planned for Ge­or­gia. Work has al­ready been com­pleted on I-24, I-59, I-285 and I-475.
