Ca­reer expo to be held in Cov­ing­ton

work­shops to aid job seek­ers in their search for em­ploy­ment and to help them in­crease their chances of get­ting a job at the expo.

The work­shops will be held Tues­day, Oct. 2, also at the tech­ni­cal col­lege from 8 a.m. to noon. They will in­clude dress­ing for suc­cess, de­vel­op­ing in­ter­view­ing skills and pre­par­ing re­sumes. Job seek­ers who com­plete the work­shops will be among the first par­tic­i­pants ad­mit­ted to the expo. The Oct. 4 expo will fea­ture a num­ber of em­ploy­ers, ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions and re­source agen­cies that pro­vide as­sis­tance to job seek­ers. The em­ploy­ers will be hir­ing or dis­cussing cur­rent and fu­ture em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties, while other or­ga­ni­za­tions will pro­vide ed­u­ca­tion and other re­sources.

Ap­pli­cants should bring plenty of re­sumes and be pre­pared to fill out com­pany ap­pli­ca­tions and in­ter­view for avail­able job open­ings. At­ten­dees are en­cour­aged to dress ap­pro­pri­ately to im- prove their op­por­tu­ni­ties for em­ploy­ment.

Those expected to par­tic­i­pate in the expo in­clude Apollo Staffing, Be­cause We Care, DeVry Univer­sity, ETCON Em­ploy­ment So­lu­tions, Foldel Health Care Ser­vices, Fu­ture Staff, Man­power, Pawn Mart, Prol­o­gis­tix, Solo Cup, The Cov­ing­ton News, Waf­fle House, Wag­ner Ser­vice So­lu­tions, and the Wal­ton County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.
