SUV crashes into res­tau­rant in At­lanta

AT­LANTA (AP) — Three peo­ple were hurt af­ter an SUV crashed into a Zesto res­tau­rant in At­lanta, au­thor­i­ties said.

The ve­hi­cle crashed into the res­tau­rant near More­land and East Con­fed­er­ate av­enues af­ter a chain-re­ac­tion col­li­sion Wed­nes­day morn­ing, au­thor­i­ties said.

Three peo­ple were taken to Grady Memo­rial Hospi­tal with mi­nor in­juries, au­thor­i­ties said.

The busi­ness was closed at the time of the ac­ci­dent.

Four ve­hi­cles were in a wreck near the res­tau­rant, which caused a Lin­coln Nav­i­ga­tor to ca­reen into the res­tau­rant, The At­lanta Jour­nal-Con­sti­tu­tion re­ported.

The driver of a Ford Ex­pe­di­tion was south­bound on More­land Av­enue when she lost con­trol, strik­ing sev­eral other ve­hi­cles and set­ting off the chain re­ac­tion crash, Ge­or­gia State Pa­trol Se­nior Trooper Larry Sch­nall said.

The Nav­i­ga­tor “trav­eled air­borne into the build­ing, caus­ing sig­nif­i­cant dam­age to the es­tab­lish­ment,” Sch­nall said.

“For­tu­nately, no one was inside,” he said.
