Mrs. Sue Astin Tru­elove, 82, passed away peace­fully at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winch­ester, Va., on Sept. 26.

Mrs. Tru­elove was a de­voted wife, lov­ing mother, and ador­ing grand­mother. She grad­u­ated from Com­mer­cial High School in 1947. In her youth, she was an ac­tive mem­ber of Cap­i­tal View Bap­tist Church in At­lanta. She played the French horn with the school march­ing band and stud­ied pi­ano for 13 years. Over the years, she was em­ployed by var- ious gov­ern­ment agen­cies, namely the IRS, FAA and the CDC in At­lanta.

Mrs. Tru­elove was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band H. Alvin Tru­elove; her par­ents Alva Clin­ton and Lilly Pearl Astin; sis­ters Ruth Love­joy and Bev­erly Nance; and brother Alva Clin­ton Astin Jr.

Sur­vivors in­clude her four chil­dren Pam, Kay, Ray and Ben; seven grand­chil­dren Gabe, David, Amy, Matt, Daniel, Brian and Ja­cob; and two great-grand­chil­dren Vanessa Noelle and Ad­di­son McCall; and sis­ter Laura Astin of For­est Park.

Funeral Ser­vices for Mrs. Tru­elove will be held to­mor­row, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Cald­well & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Ac­cess Road, in Cov­ing­ton, with Pas­tor Adam Cooper of­fi­ci­at­ing, and in­ter­ment fol­low­ing in Lawn­wood Memo­rial Park.

The fam­ily will re­ceive friends and fam­ily at the funeral home to­day, Sept. 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
